After a notable performance at the 2018 edition of Jazz en Tête International Jazz Festival, at the age of 15, Nathan Mollet, pianist and composer, has continued to develop his Trio project with remarkable maturity. His compositions reflect a demanding vision of jazz, both rhythmically and harmonically, as the young musician’s aesthetic choices exemplify a strongly grounded personality.

Through his immersion in the world of jazz at a very early age, Nathan has acquired an understanding of the very nature of jazz. The strong bonds between group members are obvious on stage and come across in the music. A freshness and deceptively simple approach, along with serious technical skills, allow Nathan to really let go and explore different musical worlds, whether alone on the piano, or with just drums, or during a personal arrangement with the Trio. Listeners readily recognize the obvious strengths of the Trio, whose music strikes a chord and solicits emotions among experts or simply music-lovers. The music “speaks” to audiences in a language that is clear, frank and melodious, during the main themes or solos. Nathan Mollet Trio was awarded the “audience choice” prize at the Avignon Jazz Festival (Prix du Public 2019).
